Tell us a little bit about your family and where you’re from.
I was born and raised in Central Ohio. A graduate of Highland high school and MVNU. Nicole and I were married in September of 2011, and we currently reside in Westerville.
When did you meet Jesus?
Growing up I would have claimed to be a Christian, but the reality was much different as evidenced in my daily living. After multiple conversations with my grandparents, I came to recognize my need for Jesus and accepted Him as my savior on March 27, 2003, at Centerburg Church of Christ.
This decision led me to change my major from Pre-Medicine to Pastoral Ministry while attending MVNU (Graduated with a Business degree). However, roughly 3 years in, the narrow path became wide, and I had walked away from what God was calling me to do because of spiritual frustration and immaturity. At this time, I had effectively become a fan of Jesus rather than a follower.
2019 was the year of awakening and Jesus revealed himself in a way I had never experienced. I could no longer be a fan, so I asked Him to be the Lord of my life.
Jesus never stops pursuing and my life today is evidence of that. Praise the Lord!
What is one of your favorite Bible verses?
Luke 9:23 – “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
What is your current role with Lifepoint? How long have you been on staff?
Church plant resident. My wife Nicole and I will be serving in different capacities as we learn all things church planting in anticipation of launching a new church in August of 2025.
How do you hope your ministry will impact people?
It is my prayer to simply reflect and point people to Jesus. My passion is to help people identify and proclaim the way to life amidst the circumstances they find themselves in and Jesus is the only way.
What experience/education/training has helped prepare you for your current role?
My time at MVNU was and still is valuable as I step into this next season of life. However, with over 20 years of experience in the sales industry, the Lord has graciously provided opportunities to grow in communication and relationship building which are critical pieces in living out our mission on earth. I have also spent time on staff over the last couple of years learning from pastors and leaders at one of the fastest growing churches in America.
What are some of your favorite shows, books, movies, music, etc?
I’m not really a big TV show guy, so I always defer to Nicole on those and chalk it up as time spent with her.
I love to read! Some of my favorites include Celebration of Discipline (Richard Foster), Spiritual Leadership (Oswald Chambers), Practicing the Way (John Mark Comer), Not a Fan (Kyle Idleman), The Divine Romance, Prisoner in the Third Cell, A tale of Three Kings (Gene Edwards).
I do enjoy an occasional movie; the GOAT though is Field of Dreams. Most of my television consumption involves, Ohio State football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Boston Red Sox. (Yes, I know I am from Ohio)
When it comes to music, I can’t sing or play but like it all. Everything from Christian, Classic Rock, Country, to Sinatra.
What do you do for fun?
I love to play golf, and offshore sport fishing with Nicole. All our vacations are planned around fishing. We also enjoy volunteering together at Bed Brigade in Columbus. I love to just hang with friends and family. Reading is another hobby.
