Tell us a little bit about your family and where you’re from.

I grew up in the state of West Virginia and came to Ohio after graduating high school to play golf at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. During my junior year at MVNU, I met my wife, Taiylor, and we were married in July of 2020. We currently have two wonderful children, a son named Ryder and a daughter named Piper.

When did you meet Jesus?

I came to know Christ at a very young age. However, it was not until my high school years that I was really discipled by one of my teachers and taught what it looks like to follow Jesus. I came to realize that Jesus calls us to submit to Him as Lord as well trust Him as Savior, and this means daily dying to our own desires as we live for His glory, not our own.

What is one of your favorite Bible verses?

Romans 4:5-8 “And to the one who does not work but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”

What is your current role with Lifepoint? How long have you been on staff?

I currently serve as the Middle/High School & College/Young Adult Pastor at Lifepoint, and have been in this role since January 1st, 2020

How do you hope your ministry will impact people?

I hope people come to know Jesus and choose to leverage their lives for His glory.

What experience/education/training has helped prepare you for your current role?

I was actually a Social Studies Education major in college, and many of the teaching/relational skills I learned in that field have translated well into ministry. I am currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary, which is providing me with a solid theological and biblical foundation for my work in ministry.

What are some of your favorite shows, books, movies, music, etc?

Seinfeld is my favorite T.V. show of all time.

John Piper has probably influenced me more than any other writer. I also love the old Puritan writers, such as John Owen and Jonathan Edwards. For fun, I love J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.

Movies: Glory Road and The Greatest Game Ever Played are two of my favorite movies.
Music: I love Classic Rock.

What do you do for fun?

Playing golf is my favorite thing to do on a free day. I also love spending time with my family, trying new restaurants, playing pick-up basketball, and going on hikes (if they aren’t too long!).
