Emma Jenney

Tell us a little bit about your family and where you’re from.

I grew up in Sugarcreek and headed to Mount Vernon after high school to attend MVNU. Zach and I met our freshmen year and got married shortly after graduation. We now live in Mount Vernon with our cat, Batman!

When did you meet Jesus?

I met Jesus when I was four years old on a Sunday morning. My family raised me in a Jesus-loving home and The Gospel clicked for me early on in my childhood. My older brother prayed with me to receive the Holy Spirit while we were sitting in our minivan in the church parking lot. From there, I continued to seek God’s Word and plug into the church and fell more and more in love with Jesus!

What is one of your favorite Bible verses?

Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

What is your current role with Lifepoint? How long have you been on staff?

I began as the Lifepoint Kids’ Associate starting in April 2024.

How do you hope your ministry will impact people?

I want to equip and prepare our amazing volunteers. I hope that my behind-the-scenes work and Sunday morning leadership reflect Christ’s love for the church and His people.

What experience/education/training has helped prepare you for your current role?

My background in Business Administration has provided me with a great foundation for motivating a team and providing them with purpose and direction. I also filled my college schedule with several ministry classes where I learned tools and techniques to share The Gospel and love others through the hills and the valleys of life.

What are some of your favorite shows, books, movies, music, etc?

My husband and I love binge-watching any sort of comedy show, like The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Parks and Recreation.

When it comes to books, I prefer any sort of Historical Fiction. A few of my favorites are The Book Thief and All the Light We Cannot See. A few Christian novels that have changed me for the better are Radical by David Platt and Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen.

For movies, I love a classic rom-com. Who doesn’t like a good love story like 27 Dresses or The Proposal?

I love any music by NEEDTOBREATHE. I’m also notorious for blasting Celebration by Kool and the Gang any chance I get!

What do you do for fun?

I love being outside. Whether it’s training for a race with my mom, hiking with friends, or taking a walk around my neighborhood, I feel close to God when enjoying His creation.
