FAQ – Church Planting Resident

Who is Brandt Hawkins? How did we connect with him?

We’re excited for you to get to know Brandt! Check out his staff bio on our “Meet our Team” page to learn more about him!

Brandt connected with Adam through some mutual friends in ministry who knew that Brandt was sensing a call to plant a new church. As they got to know one another better, they realized that Lifepoint could be a great fit to help Brandt and Nicole prepare to plant a new church.

What will Brandt do as a Church Planting Resident?

Brandt’s sole job description is to prepare as well as possible to plant a healthy church that helps people love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. In that, he will serve in various areas within Lifepoint to help learn our systems and structures. He will also have the privilege of preaching the Word to our church.

Why are we helping to plant another church?

Because we do whatever it takes to reach the one! This past April, during our “For the One” missions offering series, we shared that we believed God was going to continue to bring us opportunities to help plant multiple churches in Central Ohio and beyond. God is doing just that! We know that Jesus Christ is the hope of the world and people need to know Him! Church planting has proven to be one of the most effective ways to reach people who are disconnected from Christ and the Church.

Where and when will the new church be planted?

We are still very early in the process…but we think this new church will launch in Newark in August of 2025.

How much is the residency going to cost us?

Short answer, nothing. SEND Network will give our church $12,000 to give Brandt some compensation over the next year. He has a full-time job as a real estate agent and his wife, Nicole is a nurse in the Columbus area. Over that time, we will prayerfully discern how our church will be involved in the new church in Newark.
