Tell us a little bit about your family and where you’re from.
I’m from Mebane, North Carolina—a small town tucked between Greensboro and Raleigh. I’m married to my wonderful husband, Emanuel, and together we have two amazing children, Emanuel II and Emani. You can usually find us in the stands at a sports event or at home enjoying good food and a family game night.
When did you meet Jesus?
I grew up in church at Faith Christian Church in Roxboro, North Carolina, where my uncle, Pastor Ted Poole, is the pastor. It was a small, close-knit church family, and it’s where I began serving and growing in my faith. My first genuine moment of truly meeting Jesus was during a church lock-in for teens at Victory Christian Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
What is one of your favorite Bible verses?
“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed…”
— Matthew 17:20
What is your current role with Lifepoint? How long have you been on staff?
I currently serve as Lifepoint Kids Coordinator (in addition to continuing as the lead teacher in the 45K classroom during the 11 am service). I joined the staff team on November 1st, 2025, and I am sooo excited to jump into this new opportunity to serve Lifepoint kids!
How do you hope your ministry will impact people?
I hope my role in Lifepoint Kids helps children grow their faith and learn more about Jesus and his greatness. My goal is to show kids and their families God’s love and kindness while creating lifelong memories just like the ones I cherish from growing up in church.
What experience/education/training has helped prepare you for your current role?
I’ve been involved in church ministry throughout my life, serving in various areas, including the bookstore, the connections team, the media team, the hospitality team, the praise dance team, and the choir. I’ve also had the honor of leading the VBS worship rally team at Lifepoint for two years, which has deepened my appreciation for how kids experience God through joy and worship.
Professionally, I bring over 20 years of federal service, where I’ve developed strong skills in leadership, project management, and event planning. I have coordinated everything from small team initiatives to large community gatherings, and these experiences have helped prepare me to serve Lifepoint Kids with organization, creativity, and a heart for people.
What are some of your favorite shows, books, movies, music, etc?
I’m a hopeful romantic, so I love a good love story! My daughter and I just finished Sullivan’s Crossing and can’t wait for the next season. We also enjoyed Tyler Perry’s Ruth and Boaz – it’s such a beautiful story.
I’ve been diving into the Bible like it’s a novel; each story draws me in like a new episode of my favorite show. I’m also a bit of a self-improvement junkie! I am wrapping up John C. Maxwell’s 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.
Music is my mood-booster. I love starting my day with Forrest Frank’s Good Day, and you can usually find me humming Sunny Side Up or Take It Easy by Surfaces throughout the day. I also love a good love song; our wedding song, You Are So Beautiful by Babyface, still makes me smile every time I hear it.
What do you do for fun?
I am 100% my husband and kids’ biggest fan, so I am there for it all. I love seeing them in their element doing the things they love. I love family game night and cooking for my family. I am a patio girl, so I love summer evenings at a nice restaurant with friends and family—shopping, spa days, and adventuring out to try new experiences.
