Tell us a little bit about your family and where you’re from.
I was born in Tampa, FL, and raised in Canton, IL. Bryan and I were married in 1991 and moved to the Columbus, OH area in 1993. We have six kids, 5 girls, and 1 boy. Our oldest daughter is now married and has blessed us with two granddaughters!
When did you meet Jesus?
I was raised in a Christian home and have known about God and Jesus my whole life. I remember making a decision to honor Jesus with my life in high school but didn’t pursue Him whole-heartedly until shortly after our move to Ohio. We found a Bible-believing church that encouraged us to open the Word of God and helped us to strive to obey Jesus in all aspects of our lives.
What is one of your favorite Bible verses?
Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
What is your current role with Lifepoint? How long have you been on staff?
I am currently the Lifeteams Director. Bryan and I joined Lifepoint in July 2017, and I came on staff in 2018.
How do you hope your ministry will impact people?
I hope that people see Jesus reflected in my life. I hope that I can help people to meet Jesus, obey Jesus, and experience His peace, love, and goodness in their lives.
What experience/education/training has helped prepare you for your current role?
I have a BS in Environmental Science and worked as a chemist for several years in waste management (principally wastewater and potable water). Along with my husband, I served overseas as a missionary with the International Mission Board for 13 years. I am a homeschooling mom. I am a certified marriage counselor through Prepare/Enrich, and I also help assess potential church planter wives for the Send Network of NAMB. All of that to say, I have a wide variety of life experiences and training. I think that my perspective can be edifying to the church as He has brought us to Lifepoint to help point others to Him. The Lord uses it all for His glory.
What are some of your favorite shows, books, movies, music, etc?
I don’t watch much TV but have enjoyed Psych, Downton Abbey, Parks & Rec, and Madam Secretary.
For movies, I like comedies and musicals. Nacho Libre is my all-time favorite movie, hands down. Napoleon Dynamite (in Spanish) is another favorite.
My favorite book is Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss.
For music, I mainly listen to worship music and whatever my kids are listening to.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy having people in our home for a meal or just to hang out. It can be loud, crazy, and chaotic when all of the kids are home but it’s a lot of fun. Having our family and friends around is a blessing!
