Wendall Yoder

Tell us a little bit about your family and where you’re from.

I was born on the mission field in the Dominican Republic, but spent the first thirteen years of my life on a small farm in Zanesville, Ohio. Then in 2011 my family moved to the Fredricktown area.

When did you meet Jesus?

I was raised in a Christian home so grew up knowing about Jesus all my life, but didn’t make that personal decision to surrender my life to His Lordship till I was fifteen. Since then my life has been a testament to His constant faithfulness and grace.

What is one of your favorite Bible verses?

Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

What is your current role with Lifepoint? How long have you been on staff?

I am currently the Young Adult Ministry Director. I took on this role in April of 2024.

How do you hope your ministry will impact people?

I believe that for young adults there are so many things that are constantly calling for their attention, and it’s a time of life that is so easy to be distracted by what the world has to offer. My hope is that God would use me in this ministry to encourage and challenge young adults to give their everything to pursuing Christ. I would love to see a community of young adults committed to serving in the local church and finding true joy and contentment in knowing who they are in Christ.

What experience/education/training has helped prepare you for your current role?

The past two and a half years of my life have been spent owning North Main Cafe where I’ve had the privilege of managing and working alongside a team consisting largely of young adults, which I believe has given me valuable experience and insight in relating to young adults. I’ve also been very involved in the church in various aspects which I believe God has used to grow me and prepare me for this role.

What are some of your favorite shows, books, movies, music, etc?

Some of my favorite shows are Seinfeld, Friends, and Swat.

I used to read much more than I do now, I’ve always enjoyed the classics or a good western. Now I find myself mostly reading books by Christian authors and some of my favorite authors are Ben Stuart, David Platt, Jonathan Pokluda, and John Mark Comer.

I typically enjoy any type of action or comedy movies.

I almost exclusively listen to Christian and country music.

What do you do for fun?

I love spending time with my friends and family. And when I do have free time I enjoy golfing, going to the gym, or really doing anything active outdoors.
